My cousin had a GF4 ti4200 and he decided to get rid of it for a Radeon 9500 Pro (no flaming please). Anyway, at work we are using ATi FireGL 8700s in our engineering lab. Well, at a seminar, Solidworks (a 3d modeling app) recommended the NV GeForce line or the Quadro. Well, I asked my cousin if I could borrow his ti4200 to see how things would turn out. Well, I threw it in this system:
2500+ Barton
512MB Corsair XMS3200C2 RAM
Epox 8RDA+
On-board sound and NIC
WD 80MB 8MB Cache 7200RPM SE drive
40X CD-ROM
Well, I did a total driver uninstall since I do not have the time to do a complete system restore in XP Pro. Well, it boots up fine, and I install the 44.90 drivers. Well, on reboot, I was getting a blue screen saying Unknown Hard Error (code was 0x14 I think...). So, I throw the FireGL 8700 back and it works great. So, I throw it in another system:
PIII 700MHZ
512MB RAM PC100
Soyo 6BA+ III
and what does it do? It is running without problems as we speak. Any ideas?

1. Shoulda used DriverCleaner before you installed 44.90 (Dig, quickly! Link me!).

2. Did you try 44.03 or 44.67 as well?

The error occurs even when I first install the card and it tries to install the Microsoft version of the NV drivers. Link me to that ATi drivercleaner. Is that available on DriverHeaven?

Thanks! I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
