3GS 16Gb ATM. Thinking about a HTC Desire next, I dunno. Not considering the iPhone 4 until they've sorted the 'it's fine as long as you don't hold it' problem.

The only friend I know who has one can't replicate the problem or so he says. Not saying it doesn't exist.

It exists or Apple wouldn't have came out and said people were holding it wrong.

You'd think that Linux, which is what Android essentially is, would be ideal for a slow device. I'm not sure what makes 2.1 poky on this phone. It might be the HTC Sense UI, which is a vast improvement over the stock Droid one. I really like Sense, though, and am hoping there will be some optimizations in the pipeline for the Eris in the future, if it doesn't get the 2.2 update.

I think it's sense UI too. Cause the Incredible doesn't have those microstutters.

They do indeed. The older models do not but the new ones with a speaker; the PSP300X+'s. They have wifi and a built in mic with skype, a browser, radio stations, comics and PSN demos and junk. I'm finally able to run most homebrew apps and emulators too. I have a subscription with Skype that give me a phone number for people to call and world wide calling for less than $80 bucks a year.

$80.00 is sweet. But the only problem I see is having WiFi access all the time. For me if I stayed home all the time then I could connect to my wireless router. But there are not many free WiFi access points around here.

Forgot I have a iPhone 4 - 32 gig version and love it. No drop calls. No antenna problems.

That's pretty cool.

Verizon has a Skype app, but they gimped it. It only works on 3G, not WiFi, which makes it completely useless if you want to make international calls. That's the primary reason I'd want to use it since Verizon phones are pretty much useless outside the US and Canada.

I don't know - I've thought about it multiple times. I mean, wireless is almost everywhere now.

AFAIK it's only a problem with some people/phones and only when holding the phone with your hand touching both the WiFi and phone antenna's at the same time. I guess it could depend on how sweaty your hands are. Either way it's a problem that should have been picked up before the release.

True wireless is everywhere. That's fine if it's open and not locked up.

Right, but a lot are open. Liek I said, for me, I barely make calls, it would work to an extent.

Until your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere...

It will never be a viable replacement for cell phones.
