What is your phone?

Mine is the Samsung Eternity

I don't like it very much, I liked it in the beginning , but now it's getting old. I'm finally getting the blackberry I was promised soon, so I can't wait for that.

Why must you fail so? Post a pic, like the rest of us.

Here's mine.

I actually like it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would and even some of my Android brethren have been smitten.

It's not perfect, but the display and speed are ridiculous, for now.

Mine is the LG Xenon. Rage picked it out for me and I love it. I have yet to discover any true deficits...

Same..

And Froyo DOES make it much faster! Especially the Internet (which I don't really get, but I'm not complaining!)

Spend a little time with the Incredible and you may notice there is some weird sluggishness with the Evo/Droid phones that the Incredible does not have.

I am hoping that Froyo will launch everything up to parity and we can FINALLY see the interface be buttery smooth for all the phones :D

I think what you say was true before I installed 2.2 (Froyo). But with Froyo, I don't notice much difference (if any) vs. my sister in laws Incredible...I can't speak to the Evo, as I've only played with one once and for just a few minutes...

It's underpowered and Windows Mobile is ****. Can't wait to get a Droid X when my contract expires in a few months.

HTC Droid Eris

I generally like it, but the recent update to 2.1 has caused the phone to occasionally do some weird things. The annoyances aren't deal breakers. My biggest complaint is that it has a pretty slow CPU.

I kinda wish the homebrew community would set out to really make some sort of OS variation that REALLY runs snappy on these Qualcomm 528mhz chips. Granted, WinMo 6.5 feels a lot faster on my new phone than 6.0 did on my old Blackjack, but I'd really like to run an OS on this that's snappy above all else.

... anyway, my phones:

HTC Pure:

http://www.letsgodigital.org/images/artikelen/681/htc-pure-att.jpg

.. and my previous phone, a Samsung Blackjack with the Samsung WinMo 6.0 ROM, overclocked from ~190mhz to 252 (still got pretty good battery life)... I'm giving this to my 12 yr old after she demonstrates a month or so of responsibility with her "new" LG CU400.

My wife's Garminfone

http://www.garminasus.com/m/g/garminfone/banner.jpg

I love this phone and I especially love how the Garmin GPS is integrated into everything. The only bad thing I could say for it, which isn't really bad, is that it came with Android 1.6 version with some added 2.0 stuff like pinch to zoom, exchange support etc. so it isn't the latest Android version, but Garmin just updated their faq saying they are "actively pursuing an upgrade to a newer version of Android".

I've seen roms that have that cpu at 1ghz.

Yeah, but I'm not going to hack my phone. Plus, doing that would decrease battery life, which isn't that great to begin with.

You'd think that Linux, which is what Android essentially is, would be ideal for a slow device. I'm not sure what makes 2.1 poky on this phone. It might be the HTC Sense UI, which is a vast improvement over the stock Droid one. I really like Sense, though, and am hoping there will be some optimizations in the pipeline for the Eris in the future, if it doesn't get the 2.2 update.
