I think I'll pick up the TMobile version this Thursday when it comes out. It's supposed to be a pretty nice and fast phone. It has a 1GHZ Hummingbird processor with a gpu that is 3x faster than any other phone out. It also has 512 RAM.
The Tmobile one has no front facing camera or flash like some of the other carriers but it does have 16gb internal memory and another 2gb SD Card included. The 4" Super AMOLED screen is supposed to be very nice. Also comes with Kindle, Sims game and Avatar in HD (on the 2gb sd card I heard) and Android 2.1. I have read that they are going to be putting 2.2 on it but we will see.

haha, 3 hour movie in HD on 2gb card, not gonna happen.

for 720p, about 40 minutes will take about 1.1gb at acceptable quality, so to fit 3 hours on 2gb, they either went really low on resolution or really bad/low bitrate.

The GPU speed is irrelevant with any Android device. There aren't any decent games to play. If you want to play a game, pick up the iPhone or (believe it or not) a Palm Pre.

Well the article I read said HD but on that little screen it for sure isn't going to be 1080 or 720, of course they went low resolution but on that little screen it will look close to HD.

I want to go T Mobile so me and my wife can be on a family plan and plus I can call her and bug her and not have it take any minutes away ;)
I don't want an iphone but the Incredible looks good though.
I figure if I'm going to get a new phone I might as well get the best one out that TMobile has. I still do love the hell out of the Garmin GPS on my wife's Garminfone though.

it might, but calling something HD when it isn't, it just mad marketing.

anyway, the device looks great.

Yea I agree nekro. Anyways I didn't care for the movie that much anyways (the 3d was good though) so no big deal. Hell I will probably copy it to my computer anyways and just format the card for extra space. The SIms game could go too for all I care as i don't play those games but my wife does so she will probably be borrowing my phone a lot.

I want the Captivate soooo bad.

If I find a job, this is my next phone.

They are both Galaxy S phones. The Captivate is a little more squared off looking than the more rounded Vibrant.

This guy tries to destroy a Galaxy S and I am surprised how scratch resistant the screen is.

They are the same phones, just rebranded.

Albo listen... They are basically the same phones just a few differences between them for each carrier. Here are the major differences...

The only thing I wish the Vibrant had is the flash for the camera. Even the original Samsung Galaxy S didn't come with one though so Verizon and Sprint had them add it on.

I'm going to pick my Vibrant up at the store tomorrow morning.

And another question, will the Captivate have the ability to install unofficial apps? I know that AT&T removed this ability from the HTC Aria, do you think they will remove it with the Captivate?

I'll have to check out the Verizon variant when it launches. VZW has so many nice phones coming out it's going to be hard to choose. My ally is just too slow.

Well I got my Vibrant phone today (nana2)

The T-Mobile store wanted $250 then send in a rebate to get $50 back. Umm no. I showed them Wirefly had them for $189 (I was adding another line to my wife's account then changing to the family plan) and they honored it.
This phone is amazing.

Well I'm at work letting it charge and we have been busy so I haven't had much time to play with it.
I can say the screen really is incredible like everyone has been saying. Not only is it beautiful to look at but the sensitivity and smoothness of the touch screen is wonderful. My wife is going to be so jealous of it when I get home
I love how you can change fonts for the phone too. I think I read this was a first on an Android phone. The live wallpaper with the water ripples that move when you touch it is cool as hell.
The camera and camcorder take very nice pictures even in not so bright surroundings especially since it doesn't have a flash. I'll try and post some up later.
More to post when I can really play with it...
