There is a newsletter with a teaser image posted from Runic Games. It seems they have some news upcoming soon. What it is about I don't know, but will be revealed soon.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a try soon, I haven't played Torchlight in months, also that teaser image is interesting, could it be the announcement of an expansion pack or a multi-player mode? Hmmmm, time will tell, I have my hopes.

The news from Runic about something regarding Torchlight will be revealed in two days, 4th August. They will probably show it at GamesCon in Germany too (18th-22th).

IIRC they were saying that they plan to release a multiplayer add-on for Torchlight. That was the plan about 6 months ago. I don't know if they have plans to follow through or not.

Um thats not what I read. They released Torchlight as a test for their next title which is an MMO Torchlight game. They never planned to have MP in Torchlight nor do they plan to.

I'm really glad it's not. MMO's are annoying and overdone now imo. Everyone wants to be like WoW.

They are still doing an MMO, theres a reason they are only supporting Peer 2 Peer Internet play. I wish it was a Battlenet type system, Peer 2 Peer is what killed off most of the Diablo Clones like Titans Quest, no centralized online system sucks for these types of games.

Excellent, I am definitely glad it's not the MMO. I'll be buying this day one I am pretty sure (unless Blizzard released D3 the same day ;)). No more MMOs for me EQ1 was my first and last, I refuse to pay a monthly to to play (and that includes XBLive no matter the price).
