Here are some figures from John Fund’s column from the Wall Street Journal a few days ago. Fund reports that in the first two Bush budget years, federal spending has increased by an inflation-adjusted 5.3% per year. How does that compare with other administrations?

Carter
4.2%

Reagan, first term
3.5%

Reagan, second term
1.8%

George Bush
1.9%

Clinton, first term
1.0%

Clinton, sencond term
1.9%

George W. Bush (first two years)
5.3%

I'm gonna hold off commenting until Udawg has his coniption fit! :p :D ;)

Wall Street Journal isn't liberal. It is very conservative but I'm sure you know that.

Yes of course inflation is going up. How many times have I said, I hate Bush's spending? You are driving home a point I already made. there many factors this the reason one is the much needed increase in defense spending but Dems don't like defending the country. They would rather run to mommy Canada. BAHAHAHAH. Notice that Reagan had large defense spending also. They were both needed IMO and many others.

Again you make another point of mine. Liberals delight in bad news for the country so they can hope to gain power. Thanks for proving me right.

Wern't you the one who called me imoral and a bad person?

I only point out how liberals just love bad news that happens to the country. They reval in it. I never said who's fault it was.

BTW I would like to see the whole article.

I do think it is funny how ya'll pic out one out spoken conservative and gang up on him. That's ok I'm a big boy. I'm used to being out numbered by open minded liberals. :D :D
Actually I find it flattering that I make such an impression in your forum experiences. ;)

BTW he lied under oath but I guess that is ok if your liberal. ;)
Also what do you think this thread is about? It is harping on Republicans. Duhhh! I can't join in on the fun from my side?

Are those numbers saying that Emperor George I has managed to increase inflation DOUBLE in two years what it took Clinton EIGHT YEARS to do?

Wow, now THAT will be an impressive legacy...and a damn tough record to beat!

Oh gee did I say defence spending when up under Reagan and Bush? Ya I did. You will notice that spike in the early 40s. HMMMM maybe a WAR! You may have noticed from the news that we are in a war again.

You're trying to compare WW2 with

The War on:

1) Drugs
2) Terrorism
3) Iraq
4) Civil Liberties

Can't really say I see where you're going with that one... :)

You have no point here. You just took pet peves and threw it into a post.

I was saying that defense spending has gone up and so has the the national debt. This is a contributing factor. We were in two wars with in the last two years and continuing compaigns. Also we are increasing defense spending.

You are right WWII is much bigger in its spending this is shown by the large spike in that upward trend of spending.

Oh quit whining, I decided to have some fun at your expense for a change. It was overdue.

And last I checked an increase in spending by itself did not amount to an increase in inflation. Sorry, Bush's policies are a complete failure for the nation. At least now we have proof.

But I suppose in the good news, there's only 380,000 more unemployed this month instead of 400,000..... geeez.

There was no point to be made, the fact is Conservatives are trying to spin bad news as good news. In a kind of Freedom = slavery way. At least here I tell it like it is.
