Hi, First time posting here and i had a question that i was wondering if you guys could help me out with. I was wondering how big a difference i would see when upgrading from a Radeon HD 4850 to a GTX 460. I have an i7 920 processor, 6GB of DDR3. My computer is a Gateway FX6800-01e.

Thanks!

Given the benchmarks on various sites, you might see a decent little bump. Might be well worth it for a sub-$200 investment depending on the games you play.

Anand has a decent little write-up.

I was wandering myself on should I upgrade to a gtx 480 from my 4870, but I think that in the end I would go for this little card. I will go sli eventually, and the performance per $ will be much better with 2 460 then if I go and buy me a 480.

I have been thinking about this myself, but I might just end up waiting for the new cards later this year (if they drop) or update next year.

I can play most all games with my current rig, maxed out. I have to compromise a little bit for some games, but it still looks great. Definitely keeping fingers crossed for the next batch :)

Thanks for the reply! I'll probably be picking up a 1GB 460.
