Hey guys I decided to ask this question here instead on waiting on a phone for "a hour wait". Anyway I just switched DSL providers. The modem I had before had a switch in the back to turn off when not in use. This new one however does not have a switch, you plug it in and it stays on 24/7 and it stays hot at that.

I had it for two days so am I doing something wrong?! I followed all the directions and it does work but it never shuts off and you cant do it manually like my other one. Its in a position where it is a hassle to plug in and out but more than that I am worried this thing might just burn out or eventually start a fire. Is my computer suppose to shut it down or is it suppose to just stay on 24/7?

This how it looks.

Nope. Leave it on 24/7.

My ADSL-router is on 24x7x365. Just leave it on.

Did you think of putting a fan on there? I'm serious, if that DC in is 12V then just open up the casing of it, cut a hole in it and throw a blowhole in there

If unplugging it is difficult just get a small power strip with a switch. Plug power strip in the receptical and position it where it is convenient.

At first mine was running very warm to the touch...now its not after about a month. Maybe it had to burn-in. :D
