I cant find my cat, I let him out at 6am this morning as usual and no one has seen him since at all today, I've been looking around for 8 hours now, asked the neighbors, he is sitll nowhere to be found and its dark out now, I am so worried about him, he is a very strong cat, but im still worried, he is 10 months old, name is "7up". He has never done anything like this before.

Someone make me feel better, have any of your cats ever dissapeared for more than a day and came back. I cant live without him, I need him.

My cat wanders around outside all day, then comes in when he is hungry/bored/getting chased by neighbors or neighborhood animals

Cats have a magical way of finding their way back home from almost anywhere. My cat was gone for a day once and we were worried sick, but she showed up the next day without a scratch on her body.

Hang tight buddy, sometimes cats get the wanderlust.

I had a cat that got out and disapeared for 6 weeks, and just out of the blue one morning he was sitting on the hood of me car smiliing at me.

I can sympathize fully with your freaking/sadness/worry, but try not to as sometimes a cat has just gotta be a cat and it's WAY too soon to be panicking. ;)

(BTW-Your cat has an eery resemblance to me current kitty Chance and his sister Buttercup. :) )

I think I read somewhere that the homeless eat stray cats. Maybe that was garbage.... I don't know. In any case, I'm sure he'll turn up when he's hungry. :)

Well I don't know if this would make you feel better or not; however sometimes when the cat wasn't neutered, they might have found a cat down the street of the other gender. Depending, if it's a female cat, she might come home with kittens.

No I can't say that's what happened for sure, but animals too can feel the urge. The thing about Sheridan (a Black Lab retreiver we used to have though) was he couldn't quite get his ends straight. So he kept trying to chase the female dogs with his snout... Also, after my brother taught him to fetch the newspaper, when one wasn't delivered to our house, he'd invariably fetch a neighbor's paper instead.

Edit: And no, I don't think he wants to hear about eating cat now. However, back when we lived in New Jersey, there was a Chinese resturant that served cat meat. The resturant when out of business though when people learned of this however.

Well I wouldn't worry too much, cats have been known to be pretty independant. You say you let him out like normal? He may have simply decided to go exploring, or as other people mentioned he may have found a girlfriend (in which case expect him to come back in a few days completely satisfied ;)). My cat probably spent more time outside then it did inside. A few times he's stayed out for several weeks at a time, and he'd always come back home eventually.

I wouldn't worry too much. He'll probably come back in a few days at most. Just make sure you have a way of knowing when he comes home...does he scratch on your window or something?

yes uh... just don't go around threatening the people in your neighborhood and ordering them to return your lost animal:angel:

Well, my brother saw him in our front yard last night, and 7up ran away from my bro as usual, 7up hates my brohter. But anyway atleast I know hes ok.

I will still check with animal control, the mail lady, the paper boy, and the humane society tomorrow. Will also go around neighborhood and ask to search peoples yards.

Should I leave food out for him, or is that a bad idea and make him stay out longer.

It is cool he is at least around. Maybe he has a lady friend? ;) I hope you neutered him. I'd leave food by a back door and let him do hi own thing. Some cats just wander especially when the males mature.
