And got the HIS 5770 for $129.99 after MIR (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161338), a 2.5" to 3.5" HDD adapter (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994085), 2x1GB Crucial DDR3 1333 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148196) which will bring me to 6GB total for my rig, and this Cooler Master HSF (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057). Really lookin' forward to it all arriving. :D

What pushed me over on the 5770 is when I realised it perform comparably (trades blows) with the GTX260 Core 216... I had one of 'em and loved the performance. :D

Anyhow, It'll probably be here first part of next week. I'll report once I've got it all thrown together. :D

Nice one Redeemed!

Although I'd have invested that RAM money towards a GTX 460 ;) The 768MB model is only $199 here so I guess they're even cheaper over there.

Ya the 768MB is about 160-170 and the 1GB is about 199 to 239.

Great prices :drooling:

Thanks for the info :)

Ya, the 460, for once, are on an amazing price scale. Usually they are higher for that type of card but the price/performance can't be beat.

Yeah... I considered that- except I can easily fill the 4GB of RAM I currently have. Adding 2 more GB should allow me to disable the PF all together.

And the 5770 should offer the performance I need. After MIR this card would have only cost me $129.99. Pretty hard to beat that price.

However, if I'm not pleased with the 5770, I would either return it to newegg for a refund or sell it. Probably sell it as I think newegg dings you a re-stocking fee. Don't wanna pay that so I'd just sell it and then purchase the GTX460... probably the 1GB model.

And I'm set on e-VGA and those were all $200+. I saved $70 by getting the 5770. :)

All around this should be a nice setup for me. Probably wont be an upgrade in overall GPU performance (dual 8800GTXs vs single 5770), but the added 2GB RAM and beefy CPU cooler should make for an over all well-balanced rig. Or so I'm hoping. :)
