What phone do you have? Why not just root and put 2.2 on it?

Samsung Galaxy S - Epic 4g

It's not really as simple as that... there's no working 2.2 ROM for us yet so I'm kind of at the mercy of Samsung or a dev team to get one working... I'm hoping Cyanogen can get his ROM working for the Vibrant, which would mean minimal changes to get it ported to the Epic.. I want to get off this stock ROM so bad. The changes Samsung made to it are disgusting

We waited a couple of months on the Droid X so I imagine it will be a few months out for you as well, but being that it's a Galaxy S phone I'm sure a 2.2 rom will be out soon.
