I received the mounting kit from Arctic Cooling today. I do have to give AC props for customer support once they realized there really was an issue with their site. They have just completed about 2 months worth of work on it and were still ironing out bugs as I was attempting to order the kit. Thanks Arctic Cooling.

For install pics I'm just linking the thread at EVGA that Rummy kindly provided earlier as the pics of the card and install process looks no different here than Yoke29's excellent thread does there. And thanks Rummy for posting this.

Ok, keeping this short as there's not much point duplicating Yokes fine review, and that's about what it would be.

For some reason neither printscreen nor Fraps would take a good snapshot of Furmark, but...

Stock cooler load temps

Xtreme Plus load temps, same profile, nearly dead silent. temp maxed at 65c, I just forgot to mouseover to show it :)

If anyone wants any other temps or tests just request it and I'll do my best to help out. Sorry for the short and pretty lame review, but after all this time I just wanted it installed and done. :)

Yup - ghostgirl posted about the Sparkle Calibre (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=154904) which uses this, and the reviews I've found show this even beating the Thermalright Spitfire, and doing it silently.

Can't wait to try it out.

Nice, bro! It's been a while since I've dabbled with after market coolers. Curious how well this does. :D

It may help with temps it has to, but all the heat will be dumped in your case. I love my amp and it clocks very nice, but it is very hot. Imagine 3 8800gt's and that is the heat output.

That's where I'm hoping my HAF will shine - 230mm+200mm+140mm intake fans, 230mm and a 120mm for exhaust. I'm betting the internal case temps doesn't rise by more than 4 or 5c...I hope...:o

Awesome! :) I've never gone for an aftermarket GPU cooler myself. That thing is a monster though, should let your 480 run cool AND silent. Like you said though, it will be interesting to see what the case temps do.

The silent is what's been pushing me towards trying something like this. My temps aren't too bad while gaming, but I hate having to turn my speakers up to hear my game over the card's fan.

My 1200 does well with getting the heat out, but my computer room is so hot because of it. :thumbdwn:

I know I am thinking of getting a windows unit for my room. When I had new hvac put in about year ago I had them put a bigger vent in here because its the hottest room in the house, but its not working.

Shady side is freezing and this side is so hot. Old lady freaks out and is cold natured so I end up sweating while gaming.

Quick update - the package says clearly that mounting plate, ram and vrm heatsinks are included. What is much more difficult to see is the little fine print that states they are not included for the GTX 480.

So now I have to find them and wait for them to arrive. (po)

I just punched my grandmother for this injustice.

This is great. I can't locate a US dealer who carries these parts. I'm going to wind up ordering them from HK off AC's website - is that Hong Kong? Seriously?

Crap.

Edit: be easier to make them.

I really like the way you think.

Looking forward to these "Made By Grey" custom copper RAM sinks. :D

Seriously though- I think you're right, they'd likely be easy to make. :)

Few more phone calls and wait for a response from AC first. Superbiiz had the only cooler I could find and it shows out of stock since I bought it, so most US dealers don't even have this yet.

Now its sitting on my desk lookin all pretty and shiny and badass and I can't )*(&()^T&&RF^U& use it.

Uh-oh... pissed of silverback! HIT THE DECKS!

Honestly though, you've got reason to be mad. That's pretty screwed up. They should have stated that on the website, that the sinks weren't included. Little bit of false advertising there, imo.

Hope you get this sorted soon, buddy. :)

WTH how can they sell this without the mounting plate and ram sinks. The ram sinks I could see but no mounting hardware?
