Ok I have never had a mobile phone, I would like to get on the internet of course, I'm a total newbie, but should learn fast, as I build and play with my computers, Andriod OS, our is the Apple iphone the best?, I've been reading a little here and there, just can't make a call on which way to go. Probally really doesn't matter that much you think?:)
HTC EVO 4G is the best device I've ever used, everyday I use it for something other than a phone...its just awesome.
Sprint is the only carrier that has a unlimited data plan right now...I think.
It would probably be best to go to a Sprint store as they've been out of stock for months online, I got mine from RadioShack.

Just like Lee I have a sprint 4g phone, but I'm using the EPIC. I don't think the keyboard is really necessary but after playing with an EVO and an EPIC side by side I love the screen on this one...
Basically you can't go wrong picking the leading moto / htc / samsung device on any carrier
Verizon - Droid x or Droid 2 or Droid Incredible
ATT - Captivate
Sprint - EVO or EPIC
Tmobile - G2 or Vibrant
Those are all great phones and really solid investments

No they don't...
Starting October 16th, T-Mobile will enforce a new policy that will reduce data speeds once the subscriber exceeds 5GB of data usage in a billing cycle. If you may recall, previously the data cap was 10GB/month. Magenta states that this new policy should only affect less than 1% of its customer base, and is being enforced to guarantee that all subscribers receive the best web performance available. After you reach the 5GB cap, you will receive a free T-Mobile text message notifying you that you’re data speeds will be reduced. Once your new billing cycle begins, data speeds will be restored to normal.

Why would you do this? You must be very ambivalent on products you get to just buy whatever the 1st poster suggests.
Sure its a good phone but there are tons of other good phones out there which may suit you better.

Uhh yes they do. The bandwidth is being throttled but not cut off. It's still unlimited, just slower after a certain limit.

The first poster suggested the EVO not the epic.

I've been using it for a couple of days now, I really like it, very satisfied, Plus I'm a nascar fanatic, this is a good smartphone, a friend at work has a blackberry phone, I let him play with mine for awhile and he said when he upgrades he wants to get this Samsung Epic.:D

Epic is a Galaxy S phone right? Those are sweet! Good buy. Is it running Android 2.2?

Yep it's a Galaxy S with a slide out physical keyboard. I'm jealous.
