Hi to all i wanna to change my coolermaster V8 cpu cooler to one of this two coolers:
1-Cooler master V10
or
2-Noctua NH-D14.
i use my cpu Corei7 930 in normal speed the temp is in idel 40 & in load 65 with my cooler V8
if i overclocking my cpu to 4 GHZ the temp is in idel 60 de & in load like prime95 give me 100 de.
so what is the good cooler noctua or cooler master give me good temp ?
plz if any one tell me what is the best i wanna tell me and show me some benchs between this two coolers thankzzzzzzzzzz.

You don't have the v8 mounted correctly to get those kind of temps. Remount the cooler and reapply thermal paste.

Something isn't right. Are you mounting the cooler properly? My $30 Hyper 212 cooled much better than that @ 4ghz

I had a customer who changed out there CPU cooler the other day and experienced overheating. After bring me his rig I discovered he did not remove the plastic film from the base of the heatsink.

I also agree you should be getting better temps with your current cooler, something has to be amiss.

Also be sure not to put too much paste, all my friends make this mistake, it should be lightly and evenly spread, use something like a credit card.

Yes Butter Bandit i tryed this with the i5 750 and i overclocking him to 4.2ghx they give me in idel 43 and in full load 69 deg. that is right.
but im talking about the socket 1366 with core i7 930 they didnt give me good deg.
so if i change the cooler did they give me good deg. or no thing well change same the temp i mean.:headexplode:

Noctua is pretty good, but this thing is huge.

I'd stay away from the V10. It's massivly large and has the TEC, but it never performed great for me. The Megahalems Revision B I have now is probably still the best out there. I'm using one with a single Scythe Slip Stream 120 at 1800 RPM. The fan pulls the air from bottom to top and into the 200mm exhaust fan of my Antec 1200.

Not sure why you got the V10 when people were telling you to stay away from it... :headexplode:

Your processor, or even other components, may be the issue. There are other factors that go into keeping a processor cool, such as room temperature, air flow through the case, mounting mechanism for the CPU cooler, etc. If you're worried about the processor, RMA it to intel or get a new one. We know the cooler works fine, so we need to isolate the issue a little further.

Is this in the computer that has 3 GTX 480's in SLI? That could be part of your problem right there.

Seriously, I don't know what to tell you bud...

What is your voltage set at for your cpu. I don't have an i7 platform, but if it's similar to vdroop on skt 775, then you cpu voltage is going through the roof overclocked and under heavy load. There's where your heat is coming from.

Are you overclocking correctly? Maybe post your bios template...
I have D0 920 and a pretty good air cooler, and i idle at about 40c @ 3.6Ghz
What are you overclocking to? 4.0?

If you are still having trouble, this forum has people who specifically know Gigabyte motherboards, and they told me pretty much everything i know on how to overclock my computer.
