They do look sweet, but what I really want to see are actual gameplay captures at 35+ fps on a GTX 480....maxed. :D

But leave it to Crytek. I'd like to see that in motion at 30+ fps solid. I think they're the only developer that actually makes full use of the hardware in modern PCs. Love it! :D

I just showed these pics to my GTX 480.

I could hear it whimpering as I left the room.

WOW. Those are gorgeous.

I doubt that we'll see visuals like that in Crysis 2 :o

Probably not. I imagine they're working, or at least just starting, the third installation of the trillogy. So we'd likely see this in Crysis 3. :)

Not gonna' even show 'em to my 5770- can't afford to replace it. :p

Wow, those are really cool.

Dang, TES V plz

That looks as good as realistic looking CGI. When games looks like that then there wont be much more to improve on visuals. I'll bet 1 or 2 580 will run that smoothly minus super sampling.

Those are for real Cry3 shots, those look too real to be a video game!?!? There's no way, I need some proof dude...

11-23-10, 03:08 PM
just what the engine is capable of. Won't see it in a game cause it'd run like constipation

11-23-10, 03:45 PM
enough visuals i need to be able to destroy objects atom by atom! forget graphics and work on physics simulatioN!

Can't find these pics anywhere else on the interwebs. Not buying it until there's some verification these are Cryengine 3 screenies. They look like shots of small models.

11-23-10, 04:09 PM
well they are crytek watermarked but who knows

11-23-10, 05:16 PM
They should really show the FPS and the rig used to render otherwise this has little or no relevance to me... are they going to release the next Crysis where no one can play it on max settings for 3 years?

Dang, TES V plz

I think these are CGI. Not CE3.
The vegetations are super ultra high-poly. Looks like photo.

Is no one else reminded of the Crysis early scans?

These look like scans. Scans always look more realistic than screenshots because the colour is desaturated and highlights blown out giving it that old photo look which does a lot to hide the obvious things which make CGI and games look fake.

Sorry to be a downer but this is always the way with scans or videos of a monitor/TV playing the game, the flaws are hidden in the over exposure and the colours look more like a photo.

I think these are definitely in game/in engine shots and not really sure how someone would think they must be CGI?

EDIT: Ok so having a second look they aren't scans. Crytek have just played with the colour to give them that '70's photo look which looks more convincing but is actually less realistic to life. It's like the "cold" image filter in the original FarCry but better.

still showcasing the power of the cryengine if they are real tho. Not that you could get playable fps on current hardware, but the technology theyve put into the engine is stunning. These guys know what theyre doing

The details are quite random, lighting & shadows are super complex in background vegetation.
So, at least they are 100% photo(like racing game) or CGI.

Is no one else reminded of the Crysis early scans?

totally true. I remember seeing that picture long before crysis actually came out and thought we were entering an age of photo-realistic gaming. The end product is never anything like what the fanboi imagination can cook up.

Some people on here just do this to themselves over and over again. They get all hyped up over a particularly good looking screen shot and are then disapointed when every new game is only marginally better than existing games. This was true for crysis as well. even with an 8800gtx it was a slide show of jaggies.

11-23-10, 11:46 PM
slide show yes but crysis whats leaps and bounds ahead of other games in the graphics depot

this is so fake and gay -.-
