Im just curious as to what could be the most popular GTX of 2011 ...

Which GTX will you be getting and why?

Think ill be getting the GTX 570. It should be a really nice upgrade from my trusty GTX 260 & Price vs performance wise is around my budget.

Im really exited for the new releases.

I want to dump my 470's and get one 580. Less power and heat.

Depends on the last two cards NVIDIA put out... but probably a GTX 560 with 2GB from Palit or Gainward, whoever takes it out first, and at stock speeds. At 1366x768, I'll have plenty of horsepower to play with and those 2GB will help me tame GTA4 and make things easier for other games, not to say I'm quite an energy-saving person myself, so the less power consumption, the better.

None of the above. This 5770 is gonna' have to last me till the 7770 or nVidia's counter part. :)

Neither....

I'm saving this system for another year or so then i'm doing a full rebuild. I'm sick of perpetually upgrading and mixing and matching parts.

I think my next big upgrade will seriously be a 30" display and I'll live with this 470 until I can do a full rebuild

I'll be the same way, unless the new E series procs from intel prove to be worth the effort.

Kinda sucks that the gtx 590 is aways off. I would like to know if nvidia has or is developing drivers for quad sli? Because I directly asked nvidia via support ticket about 4 way and quad sli for nvidia 3d and non-3d surround. They said they were working on quad sli drivers but wouldn't be doing so for 4 way sli and didn't support it. I would say by the wiki entry that it would force nvidia to make quad sli (meaning gtx 295 dual dvi and gtx 590) surround drivers. I would sure love the pci-e slot space back for stuff like sata 3 raid card from highpoint along with some crucial realssd c300 256gb's in raid 0.

Not getting any of them. I've already made my upgrade for the year and I realized that going from a 5870 to a GTX 580 wasn't that big of a jump in most titles. It would be faster, sure, but I can't warrant spending that sort of money at this time.

Im quit exited about getting a new card, Havent updated my GFX card since i bought this GTX 260 back close to release.

Me getting either a the 570 or 580 depending on price i should see a really nice performance boost over this 260 ...To be honest though this 260 still eats through all my games @1920x1200 with at least x8AA & x8AF.

Just think i deserve a gfx card update as this 260 is really the bit of kit holding my rig back.

:thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn:Personally I think there should be a lawsuit for the entire 400 series! I think it is crap that Nvidia released the 470 and then improved the cards as they went backwards. I think it is BS that 2 months after I spent my hard earned money on what I thought to be second from the top they release 500 series. Don't give me the crap about welcome to the computer world because in the computer world they don't go to an entire new series in a matter of months. Absolute $%^&!:thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn:

We have a GTX 580 review that explains that (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=156936). :p

Wont be getting this silly Fermi gtx4xx re-release.
I'll be waiting for a Kepler to see how it compares to AMDs offering.

5xx series is not new series.. it's the same series (Fermi or NV60) with a different name. ;)
The 'new series' will be Kepler (NV65) during sometime next year and the proper next generation comes in 2013 (NV70)..

And yes, I hate the fact that nvidia doesn't use NVxx naming anymore.

Until I have a program that does something useful that can leverage the processing power, I am going to stick with my GeForce GTS 250. It does everything that I need at this point.

But you already can.
I haven't found many games which I can run with very high fps with 32xSSAA and 16AF (32AA basically makes that 512AF.).. ;)

I wonder if i was to get the GTX 580 would my cpu be a bottleneck at stock settings of 2.66GHz?

What about at its current 3.6GHz? ...... Just wondering what a recommended minimum cpu speed would be to get the best out of the 580?

Intel17

A 3.6GHz high end CPU will not bottleneck a GTX 580, dude.

The 500 series doesn't change the 400 series at all. Those are still great cards.
Not sure why you're pissed.

Besides the 400 series is available since March 2010. Nothing unusual that there is a refreshed version available more than 6 months after the release. And that's what the 500 series is, a refresh. The naming scheme might sound otherwise but it's not a new generation of cards.

It's all good! Plays my games very well. Just tired of the BS around graphics cards is all. Can't seem to keep up and with this purchase it has been the quickest new release of series is all.
