Her main concern is being able to play Sims3 and Fallout NV, What do you think? She coming from a Acer Aspire 8930 Laptop. It has a 2.5GHz C2D 4gb of crap and a moble 9600gt with a huge 18.4-inch display. It does not do to well with most modern games.

Not a real power house but not to bad for a budget PC. We wanted to stay under $900 and I think she's going to be pretty happy with the performance. What do you think?

Id suggest maybe going with an athlon x4 @~3Ghz I imagine you'll get a little more performance and the chip will probably be cheaper.

Yeah you’re probably right, I kind of blindly support Intel for some reason.

There's no reason to buy GTX 465, when you can get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500169&cm_re=gtx_460_1gb-_-14-500-169-_-Product

And yeah, AMD rig at this price point would be a better choice.

For $150 you can get AMD Phenom II X4 955 with unlocked multiplier http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808

and this MB should go with it nicely http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128451

It also means easier upgrading in the future.

Before you drop $800, make sure she's in the for the long haul. Jussayin. :D

+1 for AMD rig. Plus you can throw an X6 in there in the future (can you say next year's Christmas gift? lol)

Okay all ordered. The only thing we changed was the PSU to the corsair mullet suggested. We stayed with the EVGA card for the lifetime warrenty. Sony drive for the extra x2 extra burn speed. She didn't really like the look of the Lain Li and wanted the PSU on the bottom. This is kind of a collaborative effort so she gets what she wants. Thanks guys.

Just mt 2cents, I have lots of problems over the years with Ati drivers having issues in one way or another.

Nvidia still rocks my boat.
