Like so many others here, I couldn't resist this season's deals and pulled the trigger on a major upgrade for my system. New components are:

Intel Core i7 950
Asus P6X58D-E
Mushkin Blackline 998679 DDR3-1600 (3x2GB, 7-8-7-20)
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
LiteOn iHES208 BD Combo drive (was present from 7 months ago)

Cost came out to ~$726 from newegg. I used the other components from my old system in the sig, and I eventually plan to go SLI since I have two of the GTX 285s. I haven't installed the X-fi from the old system yet, and I'm using the 750GB WD drive in the new rig and leaving the other drives with their OSes for the old machine in another case I have.

So far, it's much smoother at native res, esp with DoWII and StarCraftII. Heaven Benchmark runs a lot better too, but I don't have exact numbers from Heaven for comparison. Using 3DMark06, the score with the new rig is 19456. You can compare that to the score in the sig.

Now let the flaming commence!
