I knew there was no going back for me when i went from my GeForce 3 Ti to my Raddy 9800 256 Meg baby. When you play UT2003 now I'll bet it almost seems like a different game ... I know it did with me ;)

glad you're happy with it bkswaney. So you noticed a fair bit of difference between the PRO and NON-PRO? worth the extra $$?

Yes it was. In most things I play and 3d screensavers I'm seeing 20FPS higher. :D

Having been a former GeForce FX owner, what features do you think are better on the Radeon 9800 Pro?

Hey BK..

You realize your *Screwed*.. dont you?? ;)

Seeing how you throw cash around on hardware,, and being that its a pretty short time from the *cough* next round from ATi.

You know you are not going to be able to resist punking down another 400$ on a card thats even FASTER than this one hehehe..

Especially with AA+AF Maxed out ;)

Mike.... The AA I really like. The AF is pretty good on 16x.
Just the pure power it gives for 399 bucks is the biggest draw.
The 5900 regular is 399 and it cannot touch the 9800Pro.
I love AA/AF and my 5800u was a dog in that department.

HB... Yep... I know... The 360 will be out shortly. :)
More $ for me to spend. "lol"
I'll dump the 9800 when it gets here and jump I'm sure. "lol"

Why did u dump your 9700? Do u like the 9600 pretty well?

The only Radeon 9700 I had was bundled with an Athlon 2700+ and nForce2 review unit that AMD sent me. I gave the Radeon 9700 to Chalnoth. Lord knows he deserved it. I've never seen anyone talk about something that they never owned so much.

I bought Tim a Radeon 9600 from Newegg to review. He's enjoying the card very much.

You guys need to realize something about buying cards everything 3-4 months. I spend $400-$450 a year on cards and it will get me EVERY top of the line card that is released every quarter.

What you need to do is this...Start off with a top of the line card. Lets say a 9800pro, price $400, BY the time the next new TOTL card comes out from ATI your 9800pro can still be sold for $300 or more used. Which means you only spend $100 cash on your new card, You do this 4x a year and its $400. This is how i do things and it has worked for a few years now.

That is what I've done for years now. :)
I'll bump my Pro for 300 or so right before I can get the R360. :) :)
