Same reason MW2 is $60.

Actually good point. There truly is no reason to have both those games at $60. It's not like anyone is still buying them via steam, at this point, at least I hope not. The way they're in the top selling, even now is because they are paying for the advertisements on steam.

It should be $39.99 because it's a digital download, no DVD, box or paper used.

I bought MW2 retail and it installed in Steam.

This is really stupid.

It's just Steam trying to tell you to avoid those terrible games ;)
They are just trying to be helpful, really...

I don't see the issue. It's a crappy game. I bought it for PC for 10 bucks on Black Friday and I STILL gave it away. :rofl

It should have been $12.99 on the first day, like any typical bargain bin movie.

Perfect example of why...

I personally found COD:BO to be a great game. Single player was 10x more intriguing than BF:BC2's which I couldn't stand for longer than an hour.

Still $60 is way too much

They are more expensive cause they are Named Call of Duty and are inferior to other shooters and even call of dutys of the past.

sad new is that this is true for all modern shooters that you have "support" team behind you.

pre-ordered through D2D for $44. Once they fix all the stutter issues (another patch for audio stutter is coming)... everyone should play it. Another great game in the series, its too bad they released it in such an unfinished state though. I've already beaten SP and prestiged once through MP to 50 again.

Wow, you mean I've been walking away from this game shaking from nerves all this time when I could just sit back and watch instead? This makes me very sad that I killed all them guys for nuthin.

They may not be using paper or cd's, but they still have to pay for advertising and bandwidth for downloading the data. That can be just as expensive.

That's no excuse and it doesn't explain in any way why BO is so expensive. I think it's because they can and because of the CoD name.

I've always read the story that console games are more expensive by about $10 because of the licensing they have to pay to Sony, MS, Nintendo, etc. I will never pay $60 for a PC partially because of this.

Advertising... maybe, but the bandwidth??? Now that's completely false. Of course they have to pay some level of server maintenance or whatever the price for the physical infrastructure is, but that's minimal in comparison with the benefits they get for those 60 bucks, which are insane...

Maybe I'll get it on the 360 because aside from peeps here, nobody I know plays it on the PC, they all play on the 360. Plus, I can sell it or trade it in.

I did swear off the CoD games but I'm kinda bored right now, there's nothing new out for a while. I can only play NV, ME2 and DA so many times.
