After 9 years of faithful service, my Logitech MX500 is failing me. :( It doesn't want to click anymore. I bought it in October 2002!

I am needing a new mouse, leaning towards the Logitech G9x, but am open to others. Is the G9x "all that"?

It's a very nice mouse. They do go on sale from time to time.

All that and more. Love the feel of the mouse :)

y recently changed from a mx510 (had this for so loooooooooooooooong), to a razer mamba..i love it!...even wireless mode...its so gooooooooooooooooooood.....plus the charger is really good, the best thing has to be the fact that u can go 'wired' mode as well, and it will charge and u can still play ure games if ure battery runs out...something to check out....

wireless mode is really good btw....just need to make that clear lol...i cannot tell the difference between wired/wireless.....and the fit is good...need a bit of big hands...

if u don't want to go that high, razer death adder is a very popular choice...

Cyborg R.A.T. 7 is worth checking out, if you like something heavier - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102062

Ozone Radon 5K is also very good - http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=639&Itemid=65

I forgot to add, I have a really small hand. I wear a small in gloves. I also want a really light mouse.

G700 I don't want. Don't need 13 buttons. I have a Steel Series MERC keyboard for that.

Yeah it does look nice. Not sure about the finger placement on the right, though. And $85 seems rather expensive.

G500/G700 ftw

I love my G500 and I had MX518 before. It's just a better version of that mouse, IMHO.

As DDoc mentioned, the G700 is good if you want wireless.

Indeed, and the price great at about 25. It looks a bit dated now-a-days but has always been faultless and great to use.

Is that a dpi slider? If so is it nicely ergonomic, Looks finicky, Is it?

Weighted scroll wheel?

Looks nice.
My MX518 is still going strong though.

There is a button to make the wheel have a slight click or bump or make it smooth. There 3x DPI toggle like the others. It has a weight tray. It's like a cross of the G5 and MX518.

Yeah if I was looking for a change the G500 would be my choice.

Well, UPS showed up today with my Mionix NAOS 5000. So far, so great!

I had an issue at first, with it plugged up and Win7 not recognizing it, it would hard lock on bootup. But I fixed it.

This is by far, the best mouse company out today. Even the packaging is awesome. Feels like a book, not some cheap thin cardboard. Even the weights are in a tin box!
The way it's made, it "looks" like a huge mouse, but it fits like a glove when you palm it. It has 2 natural handholds. When you lift the mouse, ring and pinky fingers lift, not just pinky. I like 24 different LED colors. I customized it to Green for web profile, red to gaming.
I am NOT use to 5040dpi! The MX500 just went to 1200dpi (LOL!). I like that you can customize the dpi stepping. Currently running 1260/2520/5040 for web browsing profile. Gaming I haven 't fixed yet.
SQAT (Surface Quality Analyzing Tool) is out of this world. You slide it on your mousepad for 8 seconds and it analyzes your surface and makes adjustments automatically.

On a scale of 1-10. I give it a 10.

Questions if you are thinking about a mouse?

The RAZER Black Wired Laser Naga Special Edition - Molten that has 17 buttons is pretty cool if you want a lot of buttons.I always had good luck with my Logitech G9x
