Before launching the new LGA2011 platform for enthusiasts in Q4, Intel plans to speed up the current one with a new Core i7 9-series Extreme Edition microprocessor sometimes in the second or in the third quarters.

Huh? On LGA-1155 or 1366?

this is not surprising at all.

That's probably the i7 990X. Nothing special, just a speed bump of the 980X.

Ahh ok. Should be a hexacore at least.

Well I am still really happy with my 920 OC'ed and it still looks like it will keep up till SB-E is released. I can't believe how long this 920 has and will lasted me.

yeah, it's 1366 hex core. Somebody posted on here a engineering sample being sold on ebay. So, the 990x (I think it's like 3.6 ghz) should be out soon. The reason I put that link out is because I was thinking that bulldozer and sandy bridge E were going head to head at the end of the summer.
