hmmm... I have been running SP 1 for the past month and have had zero issues with any of my 50+ games installed.

yea, I would never settle for anything less. Fresh install with SP1 has been working great here.

same here, and NO fresh install

Just have to know how to maintain your rig, if you do, then there is no reason to fresh install every month or two.

No issues here so far, about a 8-10 month old install. Can't remember tbh....

No issues here so far, using latest WHQL, 266.58.

If you look quickly at the error log, it's an exception 0xc0000005, which is hardware related.

I played WoW and the DA2 demo for a while after my Sp1 install, no issues.

I thought the official release of Windows 7 SP1 was supposed to be pushed out via Windows Update on Feb 22nd?

It was, but people got it early because it was RTM months ago.

My install date was 3/12/2010. No problems here with SP1 using 266.77.

BTW, if you want to know your install date just open a command prompt and type: systeminfo | find /i "install date"

I'm having a crysis here. Crysis crashes when I try to run it. Other games run, but I have not tried all of them. Gonna try newer drivers (using 266.58 currently).

That's weird, I have the same install date! The date I got my i7 set up.

Are you guys who are having issues using Afterburner?

I just posted Bah!'s post, but a quick google shows it to be fairly common. I had my first bsod on start this morning, so I'll be reinstalling AB when I get home.

Great minds. :)

I haven't had a bsod or crash yet, but they were few and far between before SP1. I have noticed that some GUI elements and caching appear to be slower and cause more frequent and longer hd access. Anyone else noticing this?

Anyone have anything positive to say about SP1? I'm not really seeing the point of it. Did anyone get a fix or improved performance in any area with this? I haven't done any GPU benching.

I'm kind of seeing that, but I can't prove it's from SP1. I wonder if the install reset the Superfetch cache or swap file in some way, so your system is monitoring your actions and rebuilding....maybe. It's kind of like when you do a clean install and the drive is grindy for a while.

I had the same problem with EVGA Precision. I had to uninstall and reinstall after the install of SP1. No issues since.

That sounds good, but it is a little difficult to do it. I have similar experience.

266.58 whql
267.24 beta

8800gtx
win7-x64 sp1

Some OpenGL aps that previously worked fine are having sever issues when running in a window, dropping to 1fps or less. popping them back to fullscreen and they work flawlessly.

It's normally ok if you start the program windowed, but not always. And toggling from fullscreen to windowed always catches the problem if not at first, soon after.

This wasn't an issue pre-SP1 install with the 266.58 , I tried 267.24 (clean install) after SP1 same issue, and then clean installed 26.58 again to check, same issue.

The only way of stopping this problem is to disable Aero, then it doesn't happen at all.

Specifically I've found this on id software OpenGL games (quakelive, quake3, quake4).

But I had problems with some openGL demos also.

Do you guys know when will next Nvidia drivers come out for GTX 570?
Coming over from ATI HD4870, I kind of miss the monthly driver updates....

My issues a couple of posts above were all aero caused.
Disabling desktop composition for the problem games fixed it.

Sill shouldn't have to do that :/

I ran 266.58 and now run the 270.61's with SP1. I have no issues.
