hmmmmmmmm.....my recommended minimum power supply is 286 watts, but i'm running a 250 watt generic w/out problems.........

this can't be right, it says i need 414W minimum!!!?

Got a modem, NIC, three hard drives, dvd, cdrw, GF4 ti4200, P4 400Mhz bus, two sticks pc133, 80mm fan, sound blaster, and a scsi controller.

And 484W for mine.
Seems like my Zippy HP2-6460P 460W PSU can not suffice.
I was planning to buy a PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe, but it's unavailable here. :(

Remember, there are more things to this then just watts.
What it comes down to is if all your connectors can suply a stable flow of power within its range (12v for for each hdd connector etc.) This means that with a good 250w powersuply you can still use AmdXP and all the things you would excpect in a new computer. It also means that a bad 350w powersuply could fail in the very same system. Advice: dont go nuts about lots of W´s, do your reasearch first. Various do it your self modding sites take up this "problem".

well, it doesn't matter much; my comp works, and when i get a new vid card, i'll upgrade to a brand-name 350w psu or better (again going by the watts, but o well)

Well the watts will give you a general idea, and If the components its built from is good then you would get a stable power flow.
