hmm the new one doesn't play well with our connection...

Nice speeds Magus. I don't need the extreme 50 package but it would be nice if they finally did a bump to their lower packages again.

That's still an acceptable connection. Better than anything you'll get from satellite or dialup. Ping times are probably better than any wireless connection as well. It might be slower than 80% of the people who ran their speedtest, but I'm willing to bet it's faster than what a lot of people still have access to.

Verizon 3G using mobile hotspot on my phone.

Too bad they can't get those pings down some.

I do have to say I love all the talk about LTE and 4G networks, and yet the tower is likely still connected to a T1 line. Should be able to break the magical 1.45mbps barrier if it were a fiber connection to the tower.

Wow. If only they could get the latency down your phone's 3g is faster than your cable connection. Downloads on the phone, games on the cable...

You might be one of the lucky ones with upload powerboost. If you have blue send and receive lights on an SB6120 modem then you're getting both. A quick check to the modems diagnostic page should confirm. http://192.168.100.1

How much do you pay for your connection magus? Mine is $39.99 a month. I've been really happy with it up until the past few weeks when at primetime it drops to about 3Mbps down and 5Mbps up.

I pay 57.95 but comcast is the only isp in my area (yay for competition!) This is there medium cost for me also. I can pay $30 for 1.5 Mbps or $99 for 50Mbps.

Only good thing about my area is that I don't see a performance decrease in the afternoon.

This site is stupid as ****. It goes 1MB the whole time, and the last 2 seconds it jumps up to as high as possible, literally.. 1, 1, 1, 9000+. I've had this problem forever. My speed is really only 1 MB. But only because netflix in the other room, and youtube in the other, and I'm streaming as well.

LOL, what a load of BS. I get 12 meg, just like I'm supposed to, but there's a few seconds at the beginning of the test where it goes super fast for some reason. Probably Charter gaming the system. I'd trade the extra 4 meg they gave us recently for some more upload and a static IP in any case. Heck, I'm not even sure what server I could download from at 12 meg.
