I wonder is it worth it to get a FX 5800 instead of a 5600U-flipchip since 5800 is going to phase out? If they are only $10 difference in price.

The 5800's quite a lot better in performance. You'll just have to put up with the FX Flow.

Get a 5800 and clock it to ultra speeds. :)

Id say the 5800 is a lot better.... phased out or not, if you own one, it doesnt really matter if its being sold any more or not. Its faster and a lot bigger and probably louder, but speed is speed, you cant go wrong!

How much is it? Im curious because you say its only $10 more than a 5600U.

The 5800 will be MUCH faster, and some manufacturers have installed resonably quiet fans on the card.

For sure. :)
I would not even think about a 5600 if I could get a 5800.
They r nice fast cards. :)

the 5800 non-ultra card's cooling is very very similar to the stock cooling on all 5900 cards. in other words, fairly quiet. take a gander at newegg, they have quite a few there, and they even have the ultra-cool boombox design by leadtek on a 5800.

so, go 5800.

yes... the only nvidia card to have the fx flow is the 5800 ultra, the 5800 regular just has the standard cooling.

I cant find both 5600 Ultra flip chip and 5800 cards with $10 different.

I found the cheapest Gainward 5600 Ultra flip chip and ASUS 5800.

Gainward Geforce FX 5600 Ultra flip chip (http://www.gameve.com/store/gameve_viewitem.asp?idproduct=1286&showit=1) $219 with free shipping
ASUS Geforce FX 5800 (http://www.nexcomdirect.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId=ACCWARE-7461076JUMVV9757&ic=VGAASUV9900TD) $258 with free shipping

Only $39 different!

Go for the 5800!

While they may be trying to phase them out there is no denying their performance. You can oc it quite well, and the noiseis not such a big issue unless you get an ultra. I have my MSI 5800 running at ultra speeds, and believe me, they run well.
