Maybe CATALYST MAKER can help me here, im suspecting my radeon 8500LE built by ATI 128mb is dead, let me explain.

the card works fine at the windows desktop, playing video, dvds, etc etc.

The problem comes when i try to play the newest games like UT2003, WC3, GTA III & VC, Splinter Cell, they all crash the moment 3D graphics are starting to display, the wierd thing here is that i can run ok games like the old UT Champ.

I tryed many catalist drivers, DX 9-9b, Fresh Install, lastest MB drivers, Hell i tested the card using MBs with KT400, i845, PM266, and even one nForce2 Board, so what you guys think? is it fried :angel3:?

Thanks and sorry about my bad english. :p

Most of those games are DX8.0 and above, leading me to believe that it might be a DX issue. Have you tried any newer OpenGL games aka any Quake 3 based games? Also have you tried OpenGL in UT2K3 to see if it will load up?

Under the system folder look for the unreal2003.ini folder, and find the Engine section under there you should see:

;rendererOpenGL
rendererDirect3d

remove the semicolon from the opengl line and add it to the direct3d line.

Give that a try and let us know.

i dont have UT 2k3 at the moment only Unreal 2 is there any way to run it on opengl?

Another wierd thing is that playing rise of nations, works ok until i use the zoom then it locks.
