This is actually a pretty good read. It helps explain the vendor specific modes and how each one works.
EDIT: Hmm after finishing up reading the rest of the article the conclusion is kind of disappointing. They show all of the limitations with anti aliasing and how a lot of the time it doesn't actually make a difference. I'd definitely have to side with their results though as many times it seems like AA doesn't appear to be doing anything. You basically have to have normal MSAA and some kind of transparency AA enabled or you won't get all of the jaggies on the screen. ATi's new MLAA sounds good in their review but when I was testing I couldn't get it to work. Might have to give it another go now that I know about the settings.
