I just got my AIUCB 2400 today... got all psyched cuz I thought I'd be goin high fsb (180-190) like my JIUCB 1700...

ermmmm ... :-l

guess not...

Heck, my KR7A-133R has the newest cx bios, and I've played with my memory timings... my PSU is good and sturdy, with strong rails...

I'm gonna post my sandra results of the 2400 OC'ed @ it's max on my board... 2.1ghz, wow... no multi adj, just a fsb bump...

THEN...

I'm gonna post my sandra results of the 1700 OC'ed @ 180fsb, 1.89ghz... multi and fsb adjusted...

well... I guess I have a nice cpu for my *runs @ stock* gigabyte kt266a home theatre pc...

I got a buddy's sick pc in and it has an 1700+, can I run that in me nForce2? I have a MSI K7N2-L with a barton 2500+ in it, can I put his CPU in my board to make sure it works? (His pc is a dead stick except for the fans powering up, before I buy a new mobo I wanna check all the components. :) )

So.. with that said, I'm gald I only paid $60 for this particular 2400...

Maybe there's some better steppings... probably...

I'm very surprised that this phr33kin tbredB couldn't cope with OC'ing, at all...

But that just makes me even more pleasantly surprised with the 1700... it still keeps up just fine...

...And don't get me started about the mobo... it just rocks..

... ok, yeah, the 2400's goin straight to the HTPC... UNLESS I do a wire mod on the pins to access lower multi's ... for some reason the "9" trick didn't work with me... It didn't give me the hidden multi...

digi, throw that 1700 in (if it's a "B"!) and go straight to 1.95-2.2ghz... yeah, do it... You'll be impressed... (you'll like your barton better tho of course, they DO feel stronger)...

Thanks, but I'm putting that off 'til the morrow. This day has got me too frazzed to be playing around with me CPU right now.

Yeah, I kind of don't like doing the "force the clip on with a screwdriver" thing unless I'm feeling fresh and steady...stressed after a bad couple of days short on sleep and at the end of another 16 hour day is just a BIT too much to hope for. ;)

thats a bad overclock, sorry. maybe if you can use higher multipliers?

the KR7A-133R limits my multi's... 12.5's my highest real option, and the <13 in the cx bios kicks me to 2ghz somehow... I'm gonna try the www.ocinside.de wire mod and see what I can do with LOWER multi's... as 12.5 and below is unavailable on the XP2400 TbredB...
