If you have a system equipped with 3D Vision by using the key combination ‚??ALT + F1‚?≥ you can take stereoscopic 3D screenshots that you can share online or just store for viewing later on. The screenshots are saved by default in JPS file format which is practically a JPEG image file with both the left and right views saved in Side by Side format. The 3D screenshots get saved under your User account in the Documents folder in a specially named ‚??NVStereoscopic3D.IMG‚?? folder having the name of the executable file and a two digit number after that. The problem here is that by default the quality of the saved screenshots is not very good, however there is a solution, you can improve the quality by following this guide (http://3dvision-blog.com/how-to-get-better-quality-stereoscopic-3d-screenshots-with-3d-vision/). Another issue with the default 3D screenshot functionality is the fact that you are limited to saving up to 99 screenshots per application, and then you need to move them in another folder and continue saving new screenshot. But there is another thing you can do‚?¶

Instead of saving screenshots in JPS format (Side by Side JPEG), you can save them in much better quality in PNS format (Side by Side PNG) and in order to do that you just need to add one new value in the registry. Just make a new DWORD value called StereoImageType and set it to 1 in the following location, depending on your OS type.

For 32-bit Windows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]

For 64-bit Windows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]

This will activate the PNS screenshot functionality instead of the used by default JPS format, and in order to bring back the default JPS screenshots you just need to set the value to 0 instead of 1 or just to delete what you‚??ve created from the registry. The PNS 3D screenshots are always saved in maximum quality and they may get quite big in size, but this way you get perfect quality that you can further compress and convert in order to get smaller file size should you need to. Another important thing regarding the use of PNS format for the 3D screenshots you save is the ability to take up to 999 instead of 99 screenshots per application.
