Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out on a safe overclock for my i7 960?

I've been looking around in Google but I can't seem to find any guides for the 960, I found 920 etc but not sure if they're the same.

My specs are in the sig.

Thanks

Yea so I just tried following a guide for a 920, because they're supposedly the same thing. The problem is, all the examples are done with an ASUS board, and I have an X58 eVga Board...

So I tried doing my best to follow the guide apart from the different stuff on the BIOS, but then my computer wouldn't even post. I had to reset the bios for it to work again.

If anyone out here has an i7 920 or a 960 with an X58 that can maybe help me out on what to change to reach 3.8GHz or maybe 4.0GHz? Please I'd really appreciate it!

I'm hoping to overclock my CPU a little bit for upcoming games this year, might be buying another 6 GB of RAM.

Please help!

you best bet is the evga forums. they have several templates available, and much of the discussion is geared toward OCing on evga mobos.
