These games have never run well for me (fps -wise) and I've always had issues with missing / flashing textures.

Do they ever fix them?

We're delighted to introduce Arma 3, the latest installment of the tactical military simulation game from independent developers Bohemia Interactive, creators of the award-winning mil-sim series Arma.

Prague, Czech Republic 19th May - Bohemia Interactive, the award-winning independent Czech development studio, is pleased to announce the development of Arma 3, the brand new installment in its series of critically acclaimed realistic military simulators. The next chapter of this stunning military simulation game is scheduled for release exclusively for PC in Summer 2012.

Storyline

Survive, Adapt, Win
After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. A small group of Special Forces and Researchers are sent to a Mediterranean island deep behind enemy lines. However, the mission is compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Cpt. Scott Miller washed ashore upon the hostile island. In his effort to carry out the mission, he will face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions...

The only thing ARMA 2 needed to be perfect was a Bad Company 2-like destructible physics model. Oh, and less command-general type missions an more awesome small squad special forces type stuff, those always rock.

Concept is brilliant but the game engine is a pos, followed the entire series & saw things improve greatly but i can't stand the clunky animations & terrrible voice acting.

Move to another engine, you can dress a pigs ear up with silk but it's still a pigs ear.

Who gives a crap about voice acting and animations when you have a whole entire well-rendered island with realistic ballistics and realistic vehicles to fight and play with? I love this engine myself, because it allows real-scale war games and fighting.

There's the problem with all games today, low expectations = pos gaming.
