I haven't really found any posts about it so, is it possible to install the linux nforce drivers on freebsd (I'm rather newbish to bsd) and if so how, what's the syntax? and btw if there is a post that answers this question can someone point the way to it

Shouldn't be a problem, you can dream about getting nvnet to work, but the onboard audio and IDE controller should work just fine, with freebsd's own drivers I mean. =)

Yes nvnet will work in freebsd at least it did on my Asus A7N8X.
You need to download the patched version.
