OK. For roughly the same price, I can get a Sammysung 27" 1920x1080 LED monitor, or I can get a Dell 27" with their 2560 x 1440. The Dell is 100 bucks more onsale, then it's 200 more, the Sammy has a 5 year warranty vs the Dells 3 year.

What would you guys do and why? Go.

Really... Do you really need to post that as a question? Its like asking if you should bang the fat ugly girl, or the beautiful fit one...

It's pretty obvious I'd say... Get the dell u2711.

This. Fat girls need loving, but that's a job for somebody else.

Yea, but that cute girl will get fat over time. That's what happened to meth's mom.

Anyway, I would go with the dell, too.

I'm still looking for one too - my old Samsung finally died. :(

Between poor Newegg reviews and my lack of knowledge about current monitor hardware, I'm pretty lost here. I ended up buying an HP 2509b monitor at Best Buy for $200 but it's a TN panel and the viewing angles are atrocious. It also claims a 2ms response time but I see more ghosting than I did on my old Samsung, which was 5 years old and had like 10ms or something like that.

I'd like to check out what Dell is offering but it seems they have 4 model lines now. Is Ultrasharp the only one worth considering? I'm looking at the U2410 right now. edit: screw it I bought the damn thing! Never buying from Best Buy again, every time I've picked up a monitor there it's been total garbage.

i find my U2410 gets fairly hot, but it is not a big issue. see if you guys notice it...

Do you have the brightness up to 100? I have my 2711 at about 23% brightness and it is still very bright during the day, and runs cool.
