I thought it was pretty obvious at this point that the roadmap is outdated.

AFAIK, this roadmap is not "outdated", it's just not accurate, hehe.
Good ole nV :)

I can't see this being DDR2 to be honest. Far more likely they will be using 2.0ns Hynix DDR 256mbit chips ( mass production starts lets see, er, August ! ).

At present the fx 5600U has a 400Mhz clock and uses 2.2ns Hynix memory. The cheapest advancement would be to simply use faster memory that suddenly becomes available just before the release, without the heat or latency issues of the nv30's memory ( or have these been solved ?).

I'm puzzling over the ability to get 500Mhz on core, is this due to IBM or is the nv36 core a lot different from the gf FX 5600U core ? They are both 2x2 so what is different ? Please advise, my core architectural knowledge is bloody poor !

nVidia seems to be fleshing out the midrange. A few months ago there was a very weedy 5600U that got pummelled by 9500Pro, now 9500Pro no longer exists , the 9600Pro is decent but a step back and nvidia have hit back with 400/800 5600U and soon the 5700 series.

I think they must be a bit miffed :)

Well most NV31's can hit 475MHz so if they can refine the process then 500MHz chould be likly with it overclocking to about 550MHz.
