you'll need to give a bit more information:
- which zotac 9800GT do you have? I looked online and found multiple. Some Require a 6-pin power cable, some don't
- which games do you play? The 9800GT is getting older and newer games may give it problems.
- what is the brand of your PSU? 600W is a nice figure, but not all brands are built the same.
- which drivers did you use? Which operating system?

try downloading the latest ones from nvidia website. go to nvidia.com and go to download drivers. follow the steps.. save the driver to your desktop, then download driver sweeper and delete all your current drivers, then restart and install the new drivers.

Make sure video card fan is working. Also check for dust or dirt in heatsink. It works for a short time the starts degrading...sounds like a heat issue.
