or whatever else would you recommend for a similar price? I really don't want something loud (*cough* HD 6990 *cough*)...

Basically I need an upgrade at vid card and I plan to use it for Skyrim and Rage @ 1920x1200 full tilt aa/af...

Current CPU = Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz, RAM=8K, 1000W Corsair PSU

Thanks,

Anand's 590 review, includes 570SLI.

And...someone has to say it - 6950CF is less money than either, $259 for a 2Gb model at Newegg. Compare it to the 590 and 570SLI in Anand's benchmarks.

The 6950CF looks like a cheaper deal and it is fast. But if you want nvidia then I would go with two GTX 570's

Very interesting... it actually beats the gtx 570 sli in Crysis... For benchmarks I like to use the games that provide the very lowest fps, so if I can get 5 extra fps at 40fps (from one card to another) then it's very valuable to me, but if a games at 115fps and gets an extra 5fps that's not nearly as meaningful to me...

Very impressed with the 6950CF performance and noise and power consumption... little high on the temps but other then that very impressive card for the $$...

Is CF more flaky or less reliable the SLI?

Why is that, what's wrong with your GTX 590?

I'd just go with what's cheaper.... the cards are going to be eclipsed in performance soon enough anyway.

I personally am using 470 sli and I really don't see much reason why anything faster would be needed... I've been gaming fine on a 2560x1600 monitor with these cards with every game I own... Metro / Crysis 1/2 included

Why is that, what's wrong with your GTX 590?It runs perfectly fine. Only issue I have is the heat the dual GPUs generate while gaming during the hotter climate.

But there are remedies to alleviate that situation. Here's one I'm testing right now:

...the cards are going to be eclipsed in performance soon enough anyway.Bravo! It was awesome how you made use of the word eclipsed. It shows class. Another word that could have been used is surp-assed :eek2:

Now for the grand prize, please furnish us with a sentence that contains the word dwarfed or is it dwarved? Damn.

Going to bed. Thanks :captnkill:

Hmmm, I have 260gtx sli now, maybe I should go that route and get the 590 too... I hear the 590 is loud and hot though, that's probably my biggest reservation... my c0ck is tiny so I need really big gpu's to compensate...
