That is a 100 dollar drop in a week.
It was 399 like the 9800Pro.
Also free shipping.

A good buy. :D

The 9800NP is 269.99 before a 20 dollar rebate...two good prices on two good choices.

I believe the 9800 Pro has been available under $300 for a couple of weeks now. ;)

For sure. I just got my Pro there 2 weeks ago.
The nonPro was 299 and the 5900 was 399.

I would get the 5900 over the NPro if it were me.
The nonPro's memory will not clock any higher than 320.

The 5900 will get 450core 900+ memory. But it all comes down to what YOU like more. :)

I was just gonna ask that too, Sweet!

I kept hearing go 9800 NP, go 9800 NP... and then you bring up a very interesting point, overclocking potential. I know my buddies does very well and with the recent article here in regards to BFG's products...

A conundrum no doubt... Sept. closing in fast while Oct. following shortly.

Bahh! I will wait till November/December to finish my system off. :D

*I shall ponder this tonight though...Muhuhahaha! ;)

Peace,

This looks like a great deal, and i would take it over a 9800 non pro, defiantly. coolfx or a swiftech waterblock comes to mind : )

Man this is so freaking tuff!:banghead:

I mean, when you consider this blah about the *optimizations*, I don't play UT2K3 and I don't give a flying flip about 3DMark... I just like making other people happy by posting my results...lol. So to me, the card is doing awesome on all the other games I do play... even some of my old school games. :D

You bring up a seriously good point about a water block on that badboy and making a custom heatsink/water cooling setup (1/8th inch copper heatsink plate with 1/4' inch copper tubing soldered to it) for the memory.... crap, I will get the watercooling suff first and test it out on my FX5200U first! :D After that... if the NV38 isn't that much of an improvement over the 5900... then I will get it.

Glad I thought this out....lol. :bounce:

Peace,

I'm thinking the same thing. If the NV38 is just more or less a speed bumped I'll just pickup a 5900u after the prices drop and the yeilds get better. With the right cooling it should make for killer bang for the $. ;) :jumping:
