Creative SBLive!, Audigy, & PCI128 drivers?

I'm NOT going to creative's site for these...

My pal grumpyguy hosed his xp install that had the sblive-->audigy patch, as well as the directions...

SO... in need of drivers are:

A kt266a mobo with an Audigy OEM (it's a home theatre pc, so I'll take fidelity over performance hit... maybe the audigy2 hack?)...

A kt266a mobo with an SBLive! 5.1 (gamer-ish PC... me wants EAX and good perf... maye the audigy1 or audigy2 hack?)

An ECS SiS735 mobo with an SBLive! 5.1... same requirements as the gamer-ish kt266a

An ECS SiS735 mobo with SB PCI128... yeh :rolleyes: I know... For BF1942 tho, this has much less cracke to it than the ECS onboard sound :p .

...any url's that work? I remember with the audigy hack, you just replaced a certain file in the creative directory or something like that...

I wanted to put some feelers out ther to see what folks know lately re: hacking the live and audigy series, and any possible improvements that have been made in the past 6 months or so...

audigy 2 hack? so, i can turn my audigy into an audigy 2? i'm being too optimistic....

The talk of "hack" is so misleading :rolleyes:

All it was about was that you dl the install cd for the Audigy2, contained on thi cd were newer drivers for both SBLive and Audigy soundcards which were not on Creatives site..

If you need drivers, go to Creatives site, you dont need any "hack" , I might add that, the hack was specificly to be able to use the software of the Audigy2, you dont need the hack to install the drivers.

You are not going to turn your SBLive/Audigy into an Audigy2, the Audigy2 install cd just contains SBLive/Audigy drivers, that all!!

Some of the audigy 2 software might be better then those for the Live series of cards. Audigy 2 hardware specific things wont work on your live/audigy1 card (24bit 196khz, dvd audio etc.)

The "hacked" drivers/software pack do work on Sblive (and they are Indeed better than ordinary Live drivers/software), I used them my self before I bought my Audigy 2.
