I've heard about oct 26th release date and that my gigabyte board is supposed to support it, but i haven't heard anything offical from gigabyte.

If your mobo has the DPS system it will probably be compatible with prescott.

No way...

I have heard the first Prescotts will be saling in most countries from Q1 next year or from end of 2003 and not so soon and will start producing from these Fall\winter

My ASUS P4p800 says that supports it too...
But there is a rumor that say it will not support it because it will need a different Mainboard supply(volts etc) from the current mobos...

So the companies that say <<Prescott is supported >> is making a mistake according to the rumor

Anyway we will see...

I hope it will be supported with current Boards because we will only need a BIOS UPDATE and not spend again money for upgrading our boards

Asus recently removed prescott support from their mobo spec sheets.
Prescott will be out by November.
AFAIK ,only Abit IC7 Max3 supports Prescott and maybe gigabyte 865PE rev.2.0.
Anyway Q2 2004 Intel will introduce socket T prescotts and the grandsdale chipset(DDRII,PCI-EXPRESS,maybe SATAII) so the socket 478 prescotts will be very sortlived.
