Goal: twinview with CRT,DFP (not just CRT,CRT) and stereo at highest possible frequency for the CRT.

Configuration: Quadro4 900XGL with DELL P1130 and DELL FP1702. Driver Version: 1.0-4496.

Status: With the present XF86Config file, the DFP runs at 60Hz (just fine) and the CRT runs at 85Hz.

Questions:
How do I increase the frequency of the CRT monitor to at least 100Hz (because of stereo) in twinview mode, the other monitor being a DFP? Using SecondMonitorHorizSync option does not help ->error: no usefull display mode left.
Also, why does the DFP not work when connected via DVI?

Tried a lot...
Any help is appriciated.

Ooops, the nvidia driver cannot handle two different refresh rates in twinview with "option stereo 3".
The XiG driver (www.xig.com) can do so on ATI cards and it can handle CRT,DFP with the CRT at high frequencies. No error like "no display mode left".

Will NVIDIA be able to do the same soon? I dearly hope so...

I had a similiar problem. I have two CRTs, one stereo and one mono. With Twinview I could not get the V refresh rate above 85 Hz. I found that for unique vertical and horizontal rates you must specify the Modeline in the XF86Config file for it. I am now running both monitors at 1024x768@118 Hz. For more information on mode line programming see the Xfree86 video mode timing HOWTO.

In XFree86 4.X it uses common canned Modelines for common types of setups. I am using a FX 1000 board on Red Hat 9.
