My configuration: Quadro4 900XGL with DELL P1130 and DELL FP1702. Driver Version: 1.0-4496.

I have two XF86config files, one for twinview and one for stereo on the DELL 1130 (FP1702 not used). This worked nicely under the driver version 4191.

The 4496 driver is advertized to be able to have twinview and stereo at the same time, so I upgraded. I should not have done that because this only works with two similar monitors. I correctly uninstalled 4496 and reinstalled 4191 and now the twinview does not work anymore meaning there must be some junk left from 4491 or during the installation it removed something which it should not have done! How stupid.. Unless I reinstall the whole system, it seems I am stuck now with the 4496 driver version.....

The 4496 driver has other problems. In the init = 3 level I always start off from the DELL P1130. Starting my XF86Config_stereo, I got the stereo running on the CRT. Now, with the same file, the driver decides to start stereo on the DFP. Does anyone know how to stop the driver from doing that? This was not the case with the 4191 driver version. Also, leaving the stereo mode, it switches back to the other monitor but the screen stays black!
Typing blindly "startx", there is the monitor switch again and everything is running again.

Any input is welcome!

p.s. Also I cannot connect the DFP via the DVI cable......

Sorry,

it happens also with driver version 4191.

All you out there, any idea why?

Partially solved the problem by not leaving the graphical interface. I now change the XF86Config file (link it differently) and logout. The logout forces the re-reading of the XF86Config file. This time no black screens and proper switching.

Still I donot understand why, with two monitors attached, there is a switch from one to the other display after starting the graphical interface!?

Any ideas?
