NV40 Launch Timeframe

I highly doubt the NV40 will be called the GeForce FX 5900 MX - the MX notation is usually given to the low performing parts, not the high end ones.

IMO Nv40 will have a new name.
Nvidia will want to differentiate its new architecture from its former controversial one.

I think and hope so. And on PS2.0 i hope to see some really great implementation (like 2 times faster than a 9800 pro)

Yeah, I really hope nVidia drop the GeForce name, otherwise it will end up being equated to 3dfx's Voodoo naming. And I'm really hoping for some innovation from nVidia with NV40. I was reading somewhere that a lot of NV25 tech is found in the NV3x series - probably explains why nVidia is getting killed by ATi atm.

It would be nice to have a new driver set for NV40 onwards. I'm sure creating a brand new driver set would improve efficiency somewhere..
