I have the nvidia graphic driver 1.0-2960
running just fine on my gentoo 2.4.19-r7 system.
I would like to get the Nvidia AGP working since I have an Intel 440LX/EX which tends to crash with the agpgarp driver. (compiled as a module)
Now some interesting facts.
If I use Option "NvAgp" "1"
then agp is listed as disabled in /proc
If I use Option "NvAgp" "3"
then the agpgarp appears in /proc
I can effectively use Option "NvAgp" "1"
in a redhat partition on the same box.
(So it's proably not an irq issue)
My board is a Nvidia Geforce 2 MX400 with 64mb SDRAM.
My PC is a Dell PII 233 with 128 megs of memory.
If you need my config and xfree86 log files I can upload them.
So 2 questions.
a. How do I get the nvidia agp working on my gentoo sytem.
b. what's the performance hit with agp disabled.
Thanks!!!
