Cars rule. Your opinions suck. I love cars.
Okay. Seriously. Cars are a good thing. I have to travel too much to do without one. Public transportation has too many irritations and costs too much too. I used to really get into cars more, but now I'm just happy to have a decent one that works, without too many problems.
On the other hand, once the primary need of a working car is met, their are plenty of more interesting things to do in life. Not that cars as a hobby (ie. dressing them up, rodding them, etc.) is a waste. Hobbies in general are good. ;)

I'd be willing to guess you don't have a driver's license or a vehicle of your own. I'm sure it's also quite expensive to operate a car in Australia and any other part of the world that's not the US or Canada.
Me, I love cars. There are so many different styles and options to choose from. Different cars have different driving dynamics and I sure wish I had the opportunity to try them all. I never miss the auto show each year in Chicago because it gives me a chance to sit in everything from a $9000 Kia to a $75,000 Jaguar convertible.
To me, driving is almost a psychological need. I'd rather drive somewhere than fly because you get to see so many interesting things on the road, visit new places, shop in different malls, etc.
But I suppose if I lived in a place where cars were expensive to own (England, Japan, et al) then my view would be different. But I don't so my opinion stands. :D

I want a McLaren F1 or Lamborghini Diablo. Ive always like driving, although automobiles are money pits. At least the ones Ive had.
If I didnt have to drive, I probably wouldnt.... But, its needed for work commutes, and entertainment purposes. Oh well.
I LOVE Driving, there is nothing like taking a Convertible GT Mustang for a drive when you have nothing to do.
mmmm I love cars :) my whole family seems to be obsessed with hot rodding, and I don't think I'm any different.
I own 3 cars now and want more More MORE! I've got my super fast mean machine, my regular commuter car, and my "project" car :)
YES YES YES I love cars *splat*

I'll extrapolate - modern day Fords are bags of crap. Ford Focus - worst car ever. *runs and hides from Ford fanATIcs* :D
But past Mustangs are cool. My mom had a 1966 that I would absolutely love to drive today. Too bad her family had to sell it. :(

Funny, the Focus is the best selling car in the world though, not to mention the Ford Escape the most popular SUV in North America...
I'll admit that the Mustangs from 93 to 99 Sucked. But their newer 2000 and up models are completely different cars

10 recalls from 2000-2002 can't be wrong. What people see in that car I have no idea. Any small car is better, be it Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and even the new Hyundai Elantras have better reliability than the Focus.

Where do you get your info? Sure they have problems, but when you sell that many there will be that many more problems. I bet % wise there no better or less than most other cars in its class. Its not by accident the Ford Focus Engine is used in ALL F1600 and F2000 race cars.
Mmmmm...McLaren F1. I would just love one of those babies. Just a little bit price at about $1 million though.
Is it true that Chevrolet is going to quit making the Camaro? I would love to get myself an SS.
Phyre
Yes, Thank god those Camaro's are gone for good. (Its to bad they had to close the plant though).

uh 10 no. i think the number is around 8. But that is still bad. I work for a Ford dealership so might be a little Ford Biased :p with my mustangs... But i will agree that the focus is a peice of ****, if it was my choice i would probably buy a Civic over it, but hey numbers dont lie and it is the best selling car in the world so they must have done something right.

And the Focus has been on Car and Driver's 10 Best list for like 3 straight years. I don't get that either. Of course, C&D doesn't have to live with the cars every day.
I doubled checked my recall figures and you'll see I updated my post. Got my infromation from www.nhtsa.org and went through their recall database for 2000, 2001 and 2002 Focus models. 10 recalls is far too many for any car. 1 or 2 I can see, especially if a car is new, but 7 in the first year? Gimme a break.
They introduced Focus because it was very successful in Europe. It's a decent car
Yeah your right, if anyone is interested i'll tell you what happen to ford these past 5 years.
Around 97-98 when the Internet started to get Really popular Ford went on this thing about Selling cars online. They took it far enough to actually Tell their Dealers that they planned to close almost every single one and move to a totally online strategy (My dad being a Ford dealer was very involed in fighting Ford's new strategy and spent some time in Court, he was a main representative for most of the Montreal district dealers). Ford put ALOT of time and money in this online strategy and really forgot what building cars was all about. So it was really only last year they realized what the hell they were doing and actually apolagized to the dearlers, Now they are tacking great strides in Quality Control (which is also why their New Aviator is not in showrooms) and helping Their dealers Succeed instead of trying to put them out of buisiness. I kid you not there was one point when my dad was ready to sell the place and get into a completely different type of buisiness.
So obviously this really hurt ford as a company (not to mention all the dealers that went bankrupt, 2 in my area alone) and still is hurting them, but the way i see it is that their on the right track now so things can only get better... i hope...

bah gimme a Vauxhall Calibra anyday:D
Ford, Porsche, Audi, etc........no thanks.......just give me that satanic new M3....
That is my dream car.......stupid fast, ultra-luxurious, devilishly good looking, and it handles like a slot car.
In my mind, $50K is an absolute bargain....if only I had $50K to burn on a car...
:D
Oh, and the GT40 reference.....regardless of how big the engine is, how fast it is, or how much it costs.....at the end of the day, it's still a FORD ( Found On Road Dead ).
No thanks... :p

Hehe, you forgot Fixed Or Repaired Daily. :D
Sorry if I'm being harsh but I'm a loyal GM guy whose family has had nothing but problems with Fords after my mom sold her Mustang. If you're happy with your Ford, Honda, Toyota, whatever, more power to 'ya. I'll stick with driving my Saturn, thanks. :D
But if I had the money to burn, gimme one of those new Audi RS-6's. 450 hp of Quattro AWD lovin' mmm.mmm..good
