Apparently they're fake?

Some say there are no hot clocks by core:shader ratio, Idk i didn't saw such info.

But if its true, GK110 670gtx a 570gtx replacement is nothing special.
idk only 20% faster and full 1024core 45%? that's a 7970 at 1050-1350mhz

lol I would like it to be at least 65% or even 70% (lee)

Then there is the price 500$= 500€, but yeah 570gtx is still selling for 280-350€.. So those 500$ look kinda logical atm., but then again its still too expensive for what it offers, same goes for 7970.

and the "famous" GK104 made it only to ~580gtx perf., i think i won't have any trouble with this 570gtx for 1 more year and wait for 28nm refresh :D

lol at 900mhz im at 580gtx ~875mhz perf. :p

I think these are fake... We'll see.

this was posted on the other thread as well.

but again..if the numbers are true..this would be in certain games i bet...twimtbp

These are the first rummored kepler specs MikeC has bothered reposting or comment on.
Maybe there is something to that!:D

Ehh those numbers look way too good to be true...

Nvidia Kepler GTX680

850MHz Core clock
2 GB 5.5GHz GDDR5 Memory
1024 Stream Processors
512bit Bus Width
Priced at $649
45% faster than HD 7970

Nvidia has a clear winner in its hands and that’s why they have commented that they had expected much more from AMD. But still we already know that AMD is preparing its revised GCN HD 8000 series graphic cards, which may be release in the latter half of this year.
Nvidia Kepler GTX670

850MHz Core clock
1.75 GB 5GHz GDDR5 Memory
896 Stream Processors
448bit Bus Width
Priced at $499
20% faster than HD 7970

The second tier 670 is 20% faster than 7970? Typically the x70 cards match the performance or slightly beat the previous x80 card.

@Vin:
That has only been true for GTX400 to GTX500 as it was only a refresh.
But the GTX470 was quite a bit more powerful than a GTX275.

Kepler seems to be about 1.5~2.0 Fermi at each level (GK110 ~ 2x GF110, GK104 ~ 1.5xGF114...) so huge perf boosts should be expected.

We'll see. Table is still missing the GK107, but that should be mostly laptop.

Or these GK104 with 1500 cores? full GK104 apparently over 2300cores :headexplode:

with a title REAL GK104 lol :D

And "GK104 680gtx" should be a little faster then 580gtx... I mean 512 Fermi cores vs 1500cores in GK104? and only such a small gap? i bet its half of that 768cores..

New cores aren't hot clocked, and are now similar to the "stream processors" amd uses.

Ouch, that's gota hurt.

As for the specs on Kepler. I have been keeping up with them over at Extreme Forums and I can tell you, they change daily. I would take everything we have read so far and throw it in the bin. Until Nvidia releases info, I don't believe any of it.

Vardant

They don't change daily. It's just stupid people and websites rehashing old info, that was already proven fake. The 1536 core rumor with 128 TMU is right.

Hopefully EVGA or someone else has a 4GB version at release because 2GB is a huge step backward vs the 7970/7950 or even the 3GB 580 :(

Am I missing something?

2xx to 4xx, big boost
4xx to 5xx, moderate boost

but

5xx to 6xx will be big boost?

So, what the **** is the point of this naming convention?

Am I missing something?
HERE:
2xx to 4xx, big boost (new process)
4xx to 5xx, moderate boost (same process)
5xx to 6xx big boost (new process)

Names are just marketing BS... always have been... likely always will be.

Yea my point was that they should skip the 6xx series and go straight to 7xx since it's a new process.

But as you said, the naming is just BS anyways.

lol 1536cores is apparently true and possible perf.,

GTX680 = GK104
1536 Cuda Cores
3*32SPs/SM
8 TMUs/SM
4 SMs/GPC
4 GPCs
32 ROPs
256bit bus
2GB 5.0Gbps GDDR5
950MHz core (with "turbo core" 1050mhz)
2*6pin

http://we.pcinlife.com/thread-1831876-1-1.html

well to be honest it looks as expected, rivaling Amd 7950-7970 for a little lower price.

but overall its still weaker, i mean only 40-50% faster then GF110 512core (stock clock) with 3x more cores? ok..
I guess its because of lower bandwidth, same 16compute units and less ROPs (crazy)

I think Gk110 is going to be that killer, hopefully in Q3-Q4 2012 like GF110 2years ago? :D

I am thinking due to reading posts from other websites that maybe this is so because of "no more hot clocks". The alleged benches as supplied are supposedly in line with no hot clocks (but increase in SPs). If hot clocks were still employed then those number may have been a lot higher (hypothetical guess). But that would mean, the TDP would go up and probably play havoc with other aspects of the GK104 (including yield).

They could have doubled SPs but allowed for hot clocks or they could have as rumors suggest tripled SPs but done away with hot clocks. But maybe architecturally they decided no more hot clocks as they can pack more into an area w/o having to resolve to hot clocks with 28nm?

At any rate I will await for more substantiated benchies etc than a Chinese website :p

If it is $299 and 30-40% faster than my 580GTX as the alleged benchies suggest, I may take the plunge....

Congrats dude. Maybe for wedding gifts, you could list a couple of Keplers. :)

or..GK110? :p

I have have the upgrade itch and I think I would get more ROI with GPUs than CPU etc :)

Kepler may be revealed this weekend...who knows at that PDXlan or something...or maybe not.

But i am guessing we will have 99% confirmation by the end of the month at any rate

OFF topic any one wanna join MUYA's stag/bachelor party? around November :p

Yeah GK110 looks more interesting

Im gonna wait for that mofo and then decide AMD or NV :D

Or maybe skip and wait for 28nm refresh, but then again AMD's response to GK110 is already that refresh hmmm (lee)

Interesting times ahead us, finally :)

I'm not getting anything with a 256bit bus.

I want true high end cards with a 512bit bus on GDDR5, no matter the price.

Btw, hi again guys :)

Still need more memory bandwidth for Blood Rayne 2 with texture pack and SSAA? :p How much is enough?
