So much for that price war... $550 is no buy zone for me. I was hoping it would be at most $499 to get AMD to make a move.

I guess supply isn't enough and they are sure they will sell all they can produce at this price point. That might have a bit to do with the rumoured TSMC 28nm production shut down. That could also be why you still can't buy 7800's.

I was hoping for $450 or so....not $550 as well. If the performance delta between the GK104 and my 580 GTX is at the 30-50% level I might upgrade...though 50% maybe GK110 rather than GK104

I'm sure he does. All this waiting is killing me. It feels like it's so close I can almost taste it.

Speculation on dual GK104 part and an August release for the GK 110 (one with 2304 CCs, 192 TMUs, 48 ROPs, 384 bit mem interface)

So they're saying GK110 is 150% of GK104, that's a very sensibly sized chip (~450-490mm2) unlike the double GK104 previously rumoured which would weigh in at over 600mm2.

It sure does look tasty if it performs anywhere near 50% better than GK104, although that is unlikely. Pity it's so far off, they might end up calling it a 780 afterall with a refresh of the lower end chips to fill in the rest of the 7xx series by years end.

Will wait for gk110 depending on game releases... There is still only BF3 that is a soul reason for me to upgrade to Kepler, however price to performance it isnt looking good for GTX680 especially as i havent seen any software that makes use of this much power...Release teh games to play on uber cards then i will buy an uber card... I aint spending all that money to grow a big e-peen and gain a big number in 3dmark...Would anyone buy a $1000 console that is 3x faster than PS3 if there was no games for it except for backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS3 games ?

Unless you have a multi monitor setup and every DX11 game available i see no reason that kepler or 7900 for that matter need to be a day 1 purchase...

Fair point MUYA, but my 1.5Gb 580s do suffer sometimes at > 1080p resolutions.
Yep it will be interesting to see...

Really? Man, My 480GTX runs fine at 2048x1152 res. Never really had any issues with a games performance, but I also might have my expectations a lot lower then yours. I don't care for 60FPS with every game.

GTX 680 performance in benchmarks.

The only game GTX 680 losed to Radeon HD 7970 is Civilization 5 with 4x AA. Maybe GTX 680 with 4GB could help it.

That's weird considering nvidia usually dominates in Civ5. I mean how can the GTX680 lose when the GTX580 wins?

I checked techpowerup, GTX 580 losed to Radeon HD 7970 at 2560x1600 4xAA.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7950/11.html

GTX 680 benchmarks are probably done at 2560x1600.

Accorded to PHK, Radeon HD 7970 OC at 1150MHz will need to match GTX 680's 1GHz default clock to get equal in games benchmarks. But 1150MHz with 6 + 8 pin will use more power than 1GHz with 6 + 6 pin power.

It really pity that the reviewers are busy with GTX 680 for days writing reviews while eat Nvidia chocolate cookies still cant finished by 12 March but accorded to PC Perspective on facebook we wont have review but a preview later. :)

Stay tuned, we'll have a quick preview of Kepler GPU performance on the mobile site coming later tonight!!

If these rumors are to be believed, this is pretty impressive for a mid ranged card. Can't wait to see how the top version will perform

Sorry man, it was a blurb of what we know now :p specs that is

[The PConline Information] distance Kepler release draws near, the major forum site have broke the news to everyone named in the guess, guess frequency, guess the size, all these comments everywhere, in the end the letter who is good? Of course, is the letter of official information. Here is our PConline evaluation room exclusive exposure for all official Kepler specifications table, core frequency, memory configuration, CUDA cores and other important parameters at a glance, the victory over the HD7970 should be no suspense!

The above picture is obtained by NVIDIA's official channels, high credibility than gossip! From here we can not only see the appearance of Kepler GTX 680 local, you can also see the frequency is set to 1006/6000MHz (core / memory), but the core can also be automatically accelerated to 1058MHz than previously projected 7xxMHz high, even a conservative estimate of the Kepler frequency performance and HD7970 flat, due to the default frequency was significantly higher than HD7970, GTX 680 performance of victory should have been non-existent doubt.

Terms of memory GTX 680 is quite amazing, the equivalent frequency of up to 6G, is the first graphics memory frequency can reach this level, so AMD has been proud of the memory controller to sweat! Not so sharp is the 256bit memory bandwidth relative HD7970, 2GB memory capacity is slightly lower than the HD7970, but the estimated or NVIDIA retained strength, the product may also take the memory bandwidth and capacity to make a fuss.

General computing, before there are rumors GTX 680 general-purpose computing power than the HD7970, and now we can determine the GTX 680 CUDA cores up to 1536 victory HD7970 should be no suspense in the

Click here estimated specifications, Kepler GTX, 680 performance of victory HD7970 should be no problem! Power consumption Kepler is also very satisfied with only a TDP of 195W at full load power nearly 250W HD7970 can be stressful! Price exposure can not believe the appearance of the exposure can be questioned, but this official chart of the above, it is a bunker! I believed! We PConline latest reports, please refer to the latest news about Kepler.
