If you have purchased a 3D-capable monitor that comes bundled with a OEM version of the TriDef 3D software for use in stereo 3D mode you might get stuck with using older version of the TriDef 3D software while DDD releases newer versions only for their Retail product. If you look at DDDâ??s website you may notice that the OEM version of the TriDef 3D for the Samsung 3D monitors for example is already ore than half an year old and meanwhile there have been a few updates for the Retail version released. The OEM version for Viewsonic 3D monitors is a bit newer than the one for Samsung, but still a few months old, the LG and AOC OEM versions are more recent, but still older versions. But that does not mean that you will have to be stuck to these old versions and will have to keep waiting and hoping that DDD to release updates for them, there is a solution to get the latest TriDef 3D version 5.1 installed and working on your systemâ?¦

There is a simple trick that you need to do in order to get the latest Retail version of TriDef 3D installed and working with your OEM-compatible Samsung, Viewsonic, LG or AOC 3D monitor. First you need to install the OEM version of the TriDef 3D software for your hardware as it also installs a license for the 3D monitor you may have (for example the LG D2342P CINEMA 3D Monitor), then you need to uninstall it and install the latest Retail version of TriDef (currently 5.1) and it is supposed to work without asking you to activate it or get a new license as you already have the display license installed from the OEM version of the software that is originally intended to be used with your monitor. Have in mind that if you donâ??t have an compatible 3D monitor that works with any of the OEM versions of the TriDef 3D software this simple trick will NOT make the Retail version of the TriDef 3D software work with it. This trick works only on 3D monitors made to work with any of the OEM versions of TriDef.
