I ran a few "benchmark" demos on my copy of Serious Sam TSE. I used max settings (extreme quality script, then I boosted some settings even more, and used the same ones over different runs). I used the Grand Cathedral demo. I used the lower fps number (without extreme spikes).
Here's what I got on my GeforceFX 5600 card with 45.23 drivers ("quality" driver setting):
No AA, 2xAF, 1024x768x32: 57.1fps
8xAA, 8xAF, 320x240x32: 58.3fps
8xAA, 8xAF, 1024x768x32: 16.2fps
OK I have a slower cpu, athlon xp 1700+ but these results are quite strange.. I mean without any AA and with only minimal AF on a "standard" resolution the demo runs at the same speed as with max AA and AF on 320x240 resolution!
And if the FX cards "outperform" the TI cards when AA is enabled, I wonder just how much would the AA performance impact be on a TI card
