This is the official thread for the 2004 Presidential election. I hope we can make this a sticky since this will be a hot topic for the next year.

All things pertaining to the 2004 elections whether it be presidential candidates or congressional races should be posted here. Campaign adds and issues also should be posted here. This way we can keep this forum from getting cluttered.

So far the political forum has been a hit and we have been for the most part civil and self governing. I hope we can continue to do so.

Remember we can disagree but we should not be disagreeable.

My first topic is the New Mexico debates. More directly the absence of Al Sharpton.

Foxnews reports (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,96409,00.html)

Al Sharpton (search) was delayed in New York by poor weather and could not participate in the debate.

But UDawg digs deeper and finds todays wheather report in New York.
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/attachment.php?s=&postid=187416

Those mild temperatures and calm winds must have been realy hard on the robust New Yorkers.

I think it's funny how black 'civil rights' leaders are automatically called 'reverend'. almost like 'reverend' is how you pronounce 'civil-rights-leader' in ebonics or something.

i also think it's funny that 'black' candidates spend so much time talking about how down-trodden the 'black' man is and how inteligent and educated 'black' people are today. yet they expect all 'blacks' to automatically vote for them because of their skin, even though they have no stands on non-racial issues at all.

ok so it's more  funny than :lol2: funny

The Dems are having another debate in Baltimore and a traditionaly black college. This this is very telling. The first debate was focused on the latino vote and this one on the black vote. If this is true then there MUSH be supstantial polling data the Dems have that say they have lost a big enough portion of the minority vote that they feel they need to shore it up by these debate.

I am willing to be Bush may come away with larger minority votes this time around. I don't think it will be huge but bigger than in 2000 and this is a huge problem to the Dems.

The only person who mentioned Bush's name was saz and he said he wasn't voting for him. I have mentioned the Dems because they are having their debates. I don't understand your sarcasm.

It's up to him, he can chose when to have the election afaik. There is a limit however as to how long he can go without having a election, no doubt he will plan to change that:rolleyes: :D

So... because she's a black woman she can't run for president? I'm rather confident you didn't mean it like that, but since it doesn't appear that she has made such a huge point of it (like you have), I'm wondering what the problem is.

Her race and gender have nothing to do with it. I was poking fun that every article I have read on this mentions her gender and race. I thought it was funny how it always says "the senates only black female" It is the same as when John Kerry is said to have served in Vietnam in every article about him or his speechs.

I want to know how she will govern not what ethnic or sexual gender she identifies her self with.
